Harry sat at the edge of the docks deep in thought, looking out over the water. The island had it's perks. It was gorgeous, to say the least, and he could tell why Dumbledore chose this place to come. It was a great site for practising with so many different environments.
He was at peace for the moment but soon enough the fact that they were all stranded would rain down on him once again. He was happy to clear his mind here when he had so many thoughts about what was going on at home. How could he fight Voldemort from here?
But, no. He pushed these thoughts away just as quickly as they had come. he would have plenty of time to think about Voldemort when they got back, as they undoubtedly would. They were with the greatest wizard on the planet, after all. For now, he shoul take a break. Consider it a vacation, if you could have a vacation from fighting the darkest sorcerer the world has ever known.

Lavender wandered along the island, curious what there was to see. She knew quite a few students that were here with her so she didn't have to worry about parting from anyone she knew onto a trip with strangers. Though the annoying thoughts of her father continued to drift towards. Could she ever have a moment's peace without worrying about him?
A sigh escaped her lips as she neared what appeared to be some sort of docks. She wasn't quite sure what had drawn her to them until she saw her answer at the end of them. Harry Potter to be exact. Him and her weren't close but since they were both on the team back home they spoke quite often.
She made her way down the docks towards the boy and sat down next to him, dangling her legs over the edge like he was "Hey Harry" she says softly a small smile on her face. Only then did she realize she had yet again torn someone from their thoughts.

Harry looked over at her, a bit startled. Somehow he hadn't heard her coming. He really would need to pay more attention if he ever hoped to defeat Voldemort. "Oh," he said, recovering from being pulled out of his thoughts, "Hi, Lavender."
He smiled at the girl before looking back over the water. "What brings you out here?" he asked. He wasn't used to seeing Lavender alone. In fact, he really wasn't used to her coming up to talk to him. He hadn't really thought about it before but they just never really got around to becoming friends.
Harry turned his gaze to the water below them.

She smiled slightly though her smile seemed to falter as he startled from seeing her there. True she had kind of snuck up on him but it wasn't on purpose.
"I was just taking a walk around the island to see what there really was around here. Didn't really find much though. I did keep running into a roommate" she says rolling her eyes at the last part as she looked over at him then turned her gaze to the water below them, kicking lightly at it with her feet which barely skimmed along the top of it.

Harry looked over at her when she spoke and nodded. He'd thought about going to walk around and see what was here as well. As long as they were going to be there, they might as well look around.
"Who?" he asked, wondering why she had rolled her eyes. He also wondered who had been put together. Teachers seemed to have this way of matching up people who weren't anywhere near compatible.

She looked over at him as he asked that one simple word "Ferret boy and Cho Chang" she says rolling her eyes as she looked down at the water. She couldn't figure out why she had to be stuck with them two. She never really got along with Cho since she always considered her voice to be down right annoying. Ferret boy was just simple to figure out. They never got along and probably never would. "I keep seeing Ferret Boy everywhere I go. Its like he's stalking me"

Harry laughed at her reference to Draco as "Ferret Boy". He could never forget when "Moody" (or, rather, Barty Crouch Jr.) made Malfoy the Amazing Bouncing Ferret... nor would he ever want to. He had considered making a small pensieve of just that moment for whenever he was in a bad place. There was nothing like having a sworn enemy tortured to brighten your day.
"Let's hope for your sake he's not," he said, now with a grin on his face. He would feel bad for Lavender if she ended up with Malfoy as her new, annoyingly self-centered shadow.

She smiled at him, looking down at the water "I would murder him where he stands if he somehow becomes my new stalker or shadow" she says smirking devilishly. She wouldn't exactly murder the boy but she would certainly hurt him to the highest level. He didn't deserve even being born thus he didn't deserve stalking her.
She looked down at the water then up at him "Who is your roommate?"

Harry shrugged. "I dunno yet... I haven't stopped to check. I've been running around all this time," he said. There was just too much for him to think about to stop moving long enough to worry about it. In fact, he hadn't thought about it at all. He had figured that they would've set it up like back at school but apparently they wanted a mixture here.
It was probably good for the school to mix up the houses every once in a while. It should definitely make for inter-house cooperation if they managed to not kill each other. He was just glad to know that Malfoy wasn't his roommate. That he wouldn't be able to stand for.

"You're just lucky you don't have to deal with Malfoy. He threw me on his bed just because I threw his book out the window after he made a smart remark" she says softly in an almost whisper-like tone. She looked down at the water as memories of both then and the summer flashed within her head quickly, making her shut her eyes tightly as if trying to make the memories stop.

Harry shook his head, now feeling bad for her and Cho both. "Just try to stay out of his way. Stay out of the room as long as you don't have to be in there," he said with a slight nod. If it was him, Harry would just fight it out but since he was talking to another student, fighting wouldn't be his first piece of advice. He didn't know how Lavender would match up against Malfoy so he wouldn't eve think of telling her to try.

She nodded silently, opening her eyes again as she turned her gaze towards him "You're right Harry" she says softly, leaning her forehead against his arm as if trying to find some shred of comfort for the boy sitting next to her "I would fight him but past experiences with two others have made it impossible for me to try" she says in soft and weak tone

Harry frowned, wondering what she meant by that. However, he wrote it off as a private thought and didn't question her.
"Do you want me to get him back for you?" he asked with a grin. "I don't really mind getting into trouble and Hermione's nagging isn't completely unbearable," he said, laughing at the last bit. He meant it as a joke but Merlin knows he'd probably jump at the chance to fight Draco.

She pulled back and looked up at him, wondering if he was only joking or if he was serious "I would love to get back at him but I'm not capable of that" she says softly, turning her gaze to the water. She could barely see some fish swimming under her and she pulled her feet away from the water, back up onto the dock where she didn't have to worry about any fish attacking her "Though its tempting"

"Why is that?" Harry asked her, wondering if it was just a lack of magical abilities that bothered her. He looked back down at the water after asking that and then gazed out over it. Something seemed to really be bothering her... although that could've quite possibly been Draco. He was enough to bother anyone. Harry just had a feeling it was something else...
