As she walked Ginny looked around. This was the first time she had actually really gone exploring on the island. Sure, she had been to a couple different spots, but she never really left the part of the island they landed on. She was glad she was doing it now, especially because the island was really beautiful. Ginny stopped at one of the larger trees and walked closer to it.
She looked around before jumping up and trying to grab the first branch. She sighed and shook her head when she couldn't reach it. She jumped and tried to reach for the branch again. Ginny loved climbing trees, except when she was too short to reach the first branch. Even though she was too short she was also too stubborn and kept trying. "Why do I have to be so short?" She said outloud as she kept trying.

Harry smiled as he saw Ginny. After speaking with Lavender, he was a bit more enthused to explore the island. He left at his first chance to see what was around. He loved what he saw. Every turn was something new and everything was so serene.
Laughing, he said, "Because your brothers stole all of the height," jokingly in response to an obviously rhetorical question. "Do you need a boost?" he teased.

Ginny stopped jumping and turned around to see Harry. "No I don't need a boost." She rolled her eyes but smiled. "It's not my fault that I'm so short." She turned back toward the tree and looked up at the branch. "Besides they're all about six foot... freakishly tall. They make me look a lot shorter then I really am." She said with a nod, jumping once more.

"Well, apparently so does the tree," he joked, teasing her again as he stepped closer. Harry was happy that he'd run into Ginny, of all people. He had this lingering feeling that he would eventually be caught alone with someone like Malfoy who would love to have a go at him. Of course, Harry wouldn't mind another duel with Malfoy either but that didn't change the fact that there were at least a million other things he would rather be doing.

She sighed and looked up at the branch, tilting her head back to do so. "That is not funny." She said trying to keep a straight face, but laughing a little herself. "Really isn't my fault that I'm short. Or that the tree is too tall." She knew it was silly of her to keep trying to climb this one when there were other trees with shorter branches she could actually reach. But if she just gave up and walked away to try and climb another tree then she wouldn't be Ginny Weasley. She was stubborn by nature and she along with everyone else knew it.

"No, it's not," he said, sitting against another tree facing her, "but it sure does make for some entertainment." He laughed a bit. Normally, he wouldn't tease anyone so much but he knew Ginny wouldn't mind. She might hex him, but it wouldn't bother her too much.
He used to avoid saying anything that might make her cross because he was a bit afraid that she would hex him like she had so many others. That, and he had been a bit protective of her. She was Ron's sister, after all.

She rolled her eyes and turned to look at him. "Well I'm glad my shortness entertains you." She said a little sarcastically, shaking her head slightly. She turned back toward the tree then him. "I'm going to climb this tree." She said with a nod. "I don't know how... but I will." She nodded again.

Harry laughed at her persistence. "Does it really meant that much to you?" he asked her. He didn't know anyone but Ginny who would be so intent on climbing a tree without first being provoked to do so. Even if he was joking, it had been quite a sight. She was worse than a little kid at the park and Harry couldn't help but grin as he watched her.

She nodded. "Yes it really does. I'm too stubborn to give up." She said jumping again. When she once again couldn't reach she looked around and saw a large log. It looked tall enough so that if she stood on it she'd be able to reach when she jumped. Ginny walked over and started dragging the log over to the tree.

Harry shook his head and laughed again as she went so far as to pull a log towards the tree. "Ginny Weasley, you are something else," he said, grinning. Well, she was resourceful, to say the least. He would have never thought to use something else... of course, he also wouldn't have tried so hard. He wondered if they weren't allowed to use magic or if she just enjoyed making things difficult for herself. Either way, he wasn't going to question her.

She laughed lightly and nodded. "Yeah, I have definitely been told that before. Although being this stubborn isn't my fault, I mean look who I'm related to." She said referring to how stubborn all of her brothers could be when they wanted to. Especially Ron and the twins. She stepped up on the log and jumped. This time she grabbed onto the branch and pulled herself up. Smiling once she was sitting on top of the branch.

Harry looked up at her and grinned. "Yeah," he said, "you have a point." Harry seemed to have quite a few stubborn friends. That was why Ron and Hermione argued so much. They had completely opposite opinions on just about everything but each was stubborn as the last. "Well, don't you feel accomplished now?" he asked her when she finally made it up.

She laughed and nodded then stuck her tongue out at him. "Yes I do." She then looked down at the ground and around her. She grinned seeing the view. It was even more beautiful up here then it was down on the ground. She loved the feeling of being up in the air like she was now. Although she prefered a broom to a tree, but of course her broom wasn't with her.

Harry grinned and continued watching her. "How's the view?" he asked her. Of course, he knew it had to be great. It was great from where he was and he was just sitting on the ground. More than once, he wondered how Dumbledore came to find this place. Maybe there was a time when more people commuted to the island and he found it then. Or maybe he had just happened to stumble upon it on one of his many journeys. They would probably never know.

"It's completely amazing!" She said excitedly as she continued looking around. She felt like a little kid in a candy store. She figured that's what she looked like but she didn't really care though. She grinned more and kept looking. After a few more moments Ginny looked down at the ground and noticed that when she moved the log went at an angle. She wasn't sure if when she jumped she'd be able to miss the log, but she wasn't going to worry about that now.
