Name: Harry James Potter
Age: 16
House: Gryffindor
Allegiance: D.A. Member
Personality:
Harry is loving and brave. He’s the type that would do anything to protect those he loves… even if it means separating himself from them or dying for them. He has fully accepted what the future holds ahead for him, although he’s not always at peace with it, but he doesn’t want to bring them with him
He feels more and more alone as the days go by, having no one with whom he can share his burden, and now, with the death of Dumbledore, he is more lost than ever. He knows, however, that he needs to push forward.
Harry has lost so many people in his life that he sometimes feels like he’s a grim which is why he tries so hard to push everyone away.
Lately, Harry really only feels free when he’s flying. He loves to play Quidditch and it is a great escape for him. He also takes pride in helping people. He love teaching in Dumbledore’s Army and was glad to see that he knew a lot more than he’d thought. He can only hope it would be enough.
Likes:
1. Being with his friends
2. Having his mind to himself
3. Quidditch
4. Just flying
5. Practicing Defense Against the Dark Arts
Dislikes:
1. Voldemort
2. Malfoys
3. Any Death Eaters
4. Snape
5. Love Spells
Goals:
1. Defeat Voldemort
2. See the end of the war without losing anymore loved one
3. Perhaps become an auror after it’s all over
4. Maybe have a family some day
Fears:
1. His greatest fear is the loss of a loved one (as he has already lost so many)
2. Losing the war
3. Hermione when she's angry (haha)
Appearance:
Harry has brilliant green eyes that all of his mother’s friends say belonged to her. In every other way, however, he looked like his father. His messy black hair is always rather unruly, even if you work at getting it down.
Harry, of course, has one feature that sets him apart from most: the lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead that came from a dark curse gone amiss. He also has a scar from a previous run-in with Dolores Umbridge. Etched into the back of his hand are the words “I must not tell lies.”
Harry is quite tall, although not nearly as tall as his friend Ronald, and, although he has grown more muscular thanks to Quidditch practice, he is very thin due to the poor living conditions at his aunt and uncle’s home. He will also look a bit pale and peaky when he first returns from a long hiatus at the Dursleys'.
When he’s not in his robes and uniform, Harry wears his cousin Dudley’s hand-me-downs that are often faded and far too big for Harry’s small form and hang off of him terribly. He also wears a pair of round glasses.
Celeb Claim: Dan Radcliffe
Family: Vernon, Petunia, and Dudley Dursley happen to be the only living family Harry has.
Family History:
Harry's parents died when he was just an infant, saving him from an attack by Lord Voldemort. The only memory he has of them when they were alive may be one he fabricated in his mind but that wasn't the only time they had saved him. Lily's love helped him survive an encounter with Voldemort again in his first year at Hogwarts and in his fourth, their ghosts shielded him from Voldemort's sight long enough to get away.
While James was from a pureblood family, Lily was a muggleborn. Petunia, her sister, said that her parents were so proud to have a witch in the family but Petunia, herself, was less than thrilled.
When the Potters died, the 1-year-old Harry was left at the door of Vernon and Petuia Dursley. The Dursleys were horrid towards Harry while they worshiped their son Dudley. Harry hated living with the Dursleys which probably made him far more willing to leave with Hagrid when he found out that he was a wizard.
Harry often says that he belongs in the wizarding world and not in the world of muggles. He considers Hogwarts to be his home and he comes to think of the Weasleys and Hermione as family as well. Molly Weasley even says that he is as good as one of her sons.
In his third year, he finds out that Sirius Black is his godfather. He is more than thrilled when Sirius asks Harry to come live with him but this never happens. Sirius dies in Harry's sixth year, leaving the Dursleys as his last living relatives.
Character History:
Harry Potter was born to Lily and James Potter, who died shortly after. At only one, Harry became the only known Wizard to survive the killing curse. He didn’t hear another word of the magical world until nearly ten years later on his eleventh birthday.
After the death of his parents, Harry was left at the doorstep of his only known relative, Petunia Dursley. The Dursleys, including their rotten son, treated Harry terribly all of his life and lied to him about his parents’ death, constantly telling him that there was no such thing as magic.
After his first year at Hogwarts, Harry knew that he was where he belonged. During this year, Harry made the best and closest friends he would ever have in Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. He became the youngest Quidditch player in a century when he joined the Gryffindor Quidditch team as a seeker only to find that his father had also been an excellent seeker. Each year at Hogwarts has been just as trying as the last for Harry but he would take any challenge over the Dursleys’ house.
Having fought off the Dark Lord several times, Harry realizes that, although the Dark Lord has proven to be more powerful in more ways than one, power is not the only thing that determines fate. While it won’t help him again, Harry was saved by his mother’s love as an infant. Harry proves to have a cool, quick mind in trying times and always manages to get himself out of even the worst of situations.
Because Voldemort acted on the prophecy, Harry feels that it is set in stone that either he or the Dark Lord will have to die in the final battle “…for neither can live while the other survives…”
RP Sample:
Harry walked up to the North tower and just looked out of a window absently, pressing his forehead against it and feeling the cold precipitation. He couldn’t believe everything that had happened. It was horrible when Sirius died but this was Dumbledore, the only wizard Voldemort had been known to fear. He clenched his fists tightly as well as his jaw and he shut his eyes. Every muscle in his body was contracting in anger… rage… sadness… maybe even fear.
How would he go on without Dumbledore? Was he really ready to face the Dark Lord? Merlin, he was only sixteen.
Nothing that had happened in the past mattered anymore. At this moment, Harry was in a state of utmost despair and didn’t see himself ever defeating Voldemort. It didn’t matter that he had survived him when he was only an infant. It didn’t matter that he had battled him at eleven or that he had fought a dragon and then escaped an untimely death all in one year or any of the other times he had faced him.
He didn’t care if he had a whole army of people behind him. None of them were Dumbledore.
Harry sighed, although it came out as more of a shudder, as he closed his eyes even tighter. It was all he could do to stop the tears from falling.
At this moment, he allowed himself to be completely vulnerable and he didn’t even care. He didn’t care if Voldemort could, once again, gain access to his mind. In fact, he willed him to fill his head with false images and pain… anything to get his mind off of current events. He was on the verge of welcoming the untimely death that seemed his destiny.
When he finally regained his composure, he decided that he wouldn’t lose anyone else. If someone close to him was going to die, then it would be him to go first. He couldn’t let them fight his battle any longer. He couldn’t let them put themselves in danger by just being associated with him. They would have to understand… Ginny most of all. He couldn’t lose the only family he had left.
Whatever it took.
